I ordered this 48"-wide unit to install over two four-drawer file cabinets in a closet. The closet is about 50" wide, inside, so ... no problem, right? Not so fast: the dimensions of the frame-out opening are just over 45" wide, which means I can't figure out a way to assemble the unit inside the space, even if I were to cut down the length of the poles/legs. Sigh. That said, these shelves are the very strong kind. Unlike another brand I recently ordered. The top wires in the build of the shelves run across the shelves (inside of parallel to the length) which makes it much easier to slide things on/off them. AND, ... genius -- the posts/legs have numbers marking the one-inch increments. No more counting rings to position the plastic wedges (and often getting at least one of them wrong). Now you just can use the number printed on the poles/legs. Why hasn't someone long before this thought of that!I'll find a use for these shelves (or find a worthy home for them). But I will have to order a shorter set.
